Philly FlavorsWednesday, April 24 - 10:00A-1:00P
MORE DETAILS ...
Guests are greeted with a classic soft pretzel as their first indoctrination to Philly Flavors upon boarding the bus.
We'll begin in Philadelphia's famed 9th Street Italian Market (home of Rocky Balboa), the oldest and largest working outdoor market in the United States for some fresh pasta sampling. Still predominantly Italian, it has the best of many cultures and cuisines to offer the shoppers.
From here it's off to 9th & Passyunk streets in South Philadelphia where the age-old rivals Pat's and Geno's serve up steak sandwiches on opposite corners for our own taste of authentic Philadelphia cheese steaks and fixins'. Learn the four basic steps to order from these fast-paced, no-nonsense, long-lined establishments. If you don't learn . they'll send you to the back of the line!
Next, have a refreshing dessert of classic Philadelphia water ice (a cross between a sorbet and a snow cone) and a sample of Bassetts Ice Cream - America's oldest ice cream company.
At the end of the tour, each guest will get a Philadelphia-made Tastykake® snack cake as a take-away. Oh, yes, we bring Rolaids® too!Special Inclusion: food sampling and cheese steak lunch
