A "Taste" of Philadelphia - Tue. October 20 1:00P - 4:00P
We'll begin in Philadelphia's famed 9th Street Italian Market (home of Rocky Balboa), the oldest and largest working outdoor market in the United States. Still predominantly Italian, it has the best of many cultures and cuisines to offer the shoppers.
Next we're off to the Reading Terminal Market, one of America's largest and oldest farmers' markets for an insider's tour. The market offers an incredible selection of farm-fresh produce, meats and poultry (much of which is brought by the Amish in nearby Lancaster County), plus the finest seafood, cheeses, baked goods, flowers, kitchenware, cookbooks, jewelry & crafts.
Along the way we'll be tempted and treated to food samples from many of the specialty vendors and one-of-a-kind stores plus the chance to stay at the Reading Terminal Market for lunch on-your-own. An "only in Philadelphia" experience!
Tour includes an autographed copy of 101 Desserts of the Italian Market.
A Significant walking; wear comfortable shoes. All-weather tour. Includes: food sampling and cook book.
